CNN has promoted Jon Adler to senior vice president of program development, original series.
The network announced the promotion Friday, March 25. Adler has been with CNN for just over a decade and was an original member of the network’s original series team, helping to build its brand. In his new role, he has been tasked with developing distinctive content for the network’s new streaming service, CNN+, which will launch this month.
“Jon is one of the most passionate advocates for all things CNN, and we’re thrilled to see him embark on this new chapter,” said Amy Entelis, CNN’s executive vice president of talent development and content.
CNN+ is set to launch in the United States on March 29. Its list of non-fiction content before its launch includes the new docuseries The land of giants: the titans of technology and The Murdochs: Empire of Influenceas well as feature documentaries Dionne Warwick: Don’t do me again and The latest movie starsEthan Hawke’s portrayal of married Hollywood legends Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
The streamer will also have a library that includes programs such as Anthony Bourdain: parts unknown, Stanley Tucci: In Search of Italy, That’s Life with Lisa Ling and United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell.
