Online program development expands in UMass system


SHREWSBURY, Mass .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – 23 new online degrees and certificates have been added to the vast catalog of UMass programs, expanding the reach of online offerings to meet the growing demand for online education. UMassOnline
provides marketing, technology and other support services for online programming from the five UMass campuses. The five UMass campuses lead the online education community with innovative online learning and teaching and respond to the University’s mission to make quality UMass education more accessible.

Online programs continue to increase from UMass campuses

About the programs

For FY14, UMass campuses launched 23 new online programs. With more online degree programs in preparation for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, UMass will only continue to grow and meet the needs of students around the world, as well as meet the demands of a global economy. and a changing labor market.

  • UMass Amherst introduced nine new degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Arts degree with four different concentrations to choose from: Applied Psychology, Writing, Social Services, and Health Studies; Certificate of General Business Studies; Certificate of Sustainable Business Practice; Master of Science in Engineering Management; McCormack Graduate Certificate in Sports Management; and Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership and Management. In addition, a new area of ​​interest in healthcare administration has been added to Isenberg’s online MBA program, along with a new specialization in adult gerontology in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

  • UMass Boston has developed four new offerings, including a Graduate Certificate in International Development; Graduate Certificate in Business Analysis; Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics and Bachelor of Arts in Global Affairs.

  • UMass Dartmouth launched three new degree programs, including the Master of Business Administration – Charlton’s Online MBA Program, the College of Engineering’s Master of Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in General Business Administration. Additionally, the liberal studies curriculum has been expanded to include six concentrations: English Literature, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, and Women and Gender Studies.

  • UMass Lowell expanded its extensive offering to include six new online programs in fiscal 2014, consisting of a Bachelor of Arts in English; Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics; Master of Science in Security Studies: Cybersecurity Concentration and Master of Arts in Security Studies: Homeland Defense Concentration.
